A 22-strong group of runners from Skipton AC travelled to Mirfield to take part in the 1st round of the West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL).
The 1st round fixture which comprises a fancy dress element was hosted by Dewsbury Road Runners at Hopton Mills Cricket Club. The figure of 8, single lap, course was run over 4.2 miles and took in a good variety of terrain with, of course, mud aplenty.
Leading Skipton male was Julian Hood (4th overall) whilst the women were lead home by Jayne Butterworth (14th overall) but both were ably supported by the rest of the Skipton team. Michael Keedy (15), Mark Shakeshaft (22) and Neil Maloney (23) were next home for the men whilst Mel Ives (15), Hilary Seward (30) and Helen Lindley (40) scored highly for the women.
