London marathon

It’s that time of the year again …

Many of you will know that the club can get an allocation of guaranteed places in the London Marathon. I have applied for these and we have two places and we will have a draw for these. The club ‘rules’ are that people are entitled to go in the draw if they applied as a Skipton AC member for a place in the London Marathon ballot and have been unsuccessful in getting a place. We draw the places at the club’s AGM and a reserve in case somebody withdraws due to injury.

If there is anybody who wishes to go into the draw on this basis then please let me know via p.d.norman@leeds.ac.uk

If there is anybody who does not meet the above criteria then please also let me know because there may not be 2+ people ‘rejected’ and still wanting to do London (it’s never happened yet, but you never know!).

N.B. The marathon places are only guaranteed, not free! ‘Winners’ in the draw still have to pay!!

The club’s AGM will be at the Oddfellows on Friday 6th December, 2013 and we will do the draw for places then.

Cheers

Paul

Results etc

Hi folks

Sorry for the delays (excuses available on request) but the RESULTS page on the website has just found itself updated with quite a few reports on activities http://skiptonac.co.uk/?page_id=234

There’s nothing on the website for parkrun yet. This will appear fairly soon (when I get around to writing something). I might do this as a separate page (like JogSkipton has). I can’t do whizzy webpages but the basic info will be there.

Cheers

Paul

Washburn relay, etc …

Teams will be organised this week for the Washburn Relay – we have some great runners taking part but if you would like to do it and haven’t let me or Jez know yet this is your last chance!! It would be good to have some reserves in case of illness/injury.

Up and Running Wakefield are introducing a new race series – Thornes Park 5K Challenge – to be run on Wednesday evenings – more info will be put up on the website soon.
